POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

This role will assist project managers in the planning, budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of projects while also being allowed the opportunity to run and manage smaller projects as they develop in the role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist and support project managers on construction projects from conception to completion
  • Assist and support project managers in schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Coordinate and share information with the construction team and subcontractors
  • Assist in the procurement of project resources and equipment
  • Perform project specific inspections and reporting as requested by the project manager
  • Assist in preparing meeting minutes and attend project meetings alongside the project manager
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems mitigate risks and resolve any emerging ones
  • Help ensure quality construction standards, project specifications and details, and the use of proper construction techniques are being implemented
  • Eventually run smaller projects using methods, knowledge, and tools gathered through assistance on large scale projects
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Construction management or related degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 0-5 years construction related experience and projects over $1M a plus
  • Medical building and/or multi-use housing structure experience preferred
  • Experience in supervision
  • Understanding or willingness to learn LEAN construction principles
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans
  • Knowledge and experience managing budgets
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • Work with limited supervision and as part of a team
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to create, maintain and prioritize a project schedule
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera is a plus
  • Sage Timberline experience is a plus
  • Procore experience is a plus

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment with short trips to project jobsites weekly. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
